Social researcher Hugh Mackay said radical measures were needed to discourage car and plane travel.
"At the moment, we don't think twice about it, we just get in the car," he said. "But
the idea that you might have petrol coupons, like we did after World
War II, or that you might have to fill in a reason-to-fly form when you
try to buy an airline ticket, that sort of stuff I would think is
almost certainly in our future."
Feel free to lead by example. When you start getting round in sackcloths on a wooden bicycle, that's when I'll pay attention. Til then, don't blow it our your ass. The flatulence will destroy the planet.
